How to

Peel the stamp from backing

Stick to a clean and dry acrylic block

Ink the stamp with light pressure

                                                                 Position and center the face

                                                                                                Stamp the face

WHA LA... Your paper doll has a face! Color with your favorite mediums.  Beginners will find that chalks or colored pencils work great to add dimension. Painters will love this quick and easy line drawing transfer!  These also work great to create polymer clay pieces.  Super duper simple ...ANYONE can do this!  You don't have to be a seasoned pro to use our stamps.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR BEGINNERS using our faces with their CRICUT die cuts.  You will need to use the BLACKOUT feature when cutting your dolls and animals so that the faces will not cut out - leaving a nice perfect area to stamp that face on! :)

ARE YOU NEW TO STAMPING?
This is how easy it is!
Here is our adorable 22 month old, grand-daughter, Lucy! Her Mama inked the stamp for her but look how easily she stamped and how happy she looks! By the way, this was her first attempt at stamping! "I TAMP - HAPPY!" is what she said right afterward!

"I tamp HAPPY!"

Lucy stamps!

I use StazOn ink to stamp the faces
  • When using a NEW StazOn ink pad, it is important to let it sit open for 20 to 30 minutes (or longer) before stamping with it.  Do this the first several times that you use the ink pad.  When you notice that it is starting to not be so "juicy" when you open it, you won't need to do this anymore.
  • Always wash your stamps off after using StazOn.  I use baby wipes or just wet toweling.  A solvent based cleaner is not recommended but YOU CAN use one - just rinse immediately.
  • StazOn is permanent, acid free ink.. so watch your clothes and surfaces when using it.
  • All StazOn ink pads come with a plastic liner over the ink pad. It is meant to stay there when the ink pad is not in use.  Use a glue dot to adhere it permanently to the inside cover of your ink pad so that you don't lose it or forget to put it back on. :)
  • You can color, paint or decoupage over images stamped with StazOn.  Before doing any of the previously mentioned, it is always recommended to do a test piece first with all of the mediums you will use on your finished product.
  • With all stamp pads, it is recommended by stampers to store the ink upside down to keep the ink from settling at the bottom of the pad.
  • Always remember to TAP our stamps on the ink pad.  They do not need a lot of pressure to ink or stamp.  You don't want a big mess on the area of the stamp that does not print.  If you have over-inked your stamp, simply clean right away with a touch of dish soap and water. You will have to rub a little bit to get it off.. then rinse the stamp.

Okay.. You have stamped that cute little face on the paper doll.. Now what?  THE FUN PART!  Here are a few techniques and mediums that work for me when making paper dolls...

I use chalk to color the cheeks.

  • Any chalk will work.
  • I use RED chalk for the cheeks
  • I recommend a FABRIC round brush about 1/8" to 1/4" in diameter for the smaller dies and larger brushes for the bigger dies.  A cotton swab (q-tip) will work for this too, however, not as well.
  • Apply the chalk to the dry fabric brush.
  • Dry lint free cloth or paper towel serves as a blotter for the chalk.  Swirl the brush in a continual circle to work the chalk into and somewhat off of the brush. When it looks like most of the chalk is gone, you are ready to apply the cheek color to your paper doll.
  • Apply the cheeks on your paper doll in the same continual circular swirl motion with pressure.

I use Americana acrylic paints for most of my projects.

  • Use a small brush - a #1 round to paint the eye whites.
  • Use a small angular brush to float color in the irises.
  • Use the same angulars to float shading and highlighting colors around the facial features.
  • Note.. acrylic paint is acid free and perfectly safe to use for scrapbooking!

Tips and Techniques for using Peachy Keen Stamps:
Peachy Keen Stamps are made with the best quality of polymer in today's market! They're made of transparent, peach-tinted polymer with a cling that's built-in! ALL of our stamps are unmounted and require an acrylic block to adhere to. Our stamps are made with a softer material (durometer) which adds life to your stamps!

Acrylic Blocks:
You only need one of each size, ever, as you will use the blocks as temporary mounts. Your acrylic block should be clean and dry for proper adhesion of the stamps. You can lay graph paper under the block to line letters up perfectly, if you choose to. Try to use blocks closer to the size of the stamp for best results in image quality. The reason for this is that a very small stamp on a very large block may cause you to rock the stamp left or right depending on your dexterity.

Stamping with Peachy Keen Stamps:
Peel the stamp from the package backing. Stick the stamp to the clean and dry acrylic block. Ink the stamp - LIGHT PRESSURE ONLY REQUIRED! See through the stamp and block to center your image and STAMP! Again with lighter pressure than a rubber stamp.

Clean up:
Pigment ink rinses right off with just water. I use baby wipes (alcohol free) to clean my stamps after each use, even if it is StazOn or a dye-based ink. You may use solvent based cleaners if you choose to. We recommend that you rinse the stamp with clear water immediately afterwards.

Built-in Cling:
The stamps are not only Peachy Keen in color.. they really are Peachy Keen all together! The cling is built-in the back of the stamp. The stamps will stick to any slick surface. After repeated use, oils from fingers (or say you dropped it in a pile of glitter) will cause the cling to lessen. Not to worry! The cling is reactivated COMPLETELY by rinsing it with clear water. Let the stamp air dry for best clinging results.

Storage:
You can keep your stamps in a notebook binder on page protectors or in an empty c.d. case. To prevent abnormal discoloring, keep the stamps out of direct sunlight.

Stamping with acrylic paint:

  • Pour acrylic paint directly onto a make up sponge (about 1" diameter)

  • Work the paint into the sponge, by pouncing the painted side on your palette paper, gently (don't over work this).

  • Ink your stamp with the "homemade" paint sponge.
Stamp! The nice thing about stamping with paint is that you don't have to worry about buying ink, ink running or if you mess up! If you make a mistake, just wipe it off with wet toweling and stamp it again!

  • Wash out your make up sponge or throw it out when you are done. You will need to rinse the stamp with water immediately when you are done stamping, so have an extra basin of water handy when using this stamping technique.
  • Acrylic paint is ACID FREE!!
